About Me
I am joy. I learned from one of my teachers that the path of Kundalini yoga is a path of love to love, a path of joy to joy, and that the objective is to help us actualize our higher selves. My journey with Kundalini yoga and meditation began on the beach in Fort Lauderdale under the Full Sturgeon Moon in 2021. My life was forever changed beginning with that very first practice. I found a training program the following morning, and dove into the practice with an open, joyful heart.
My journey with Kundalini yoga and meditation has helped me to peel back the layers of protection that we all build around our hearts as we experience life. Think about a newborn baby. A pure soul. And, then think about those times in your life, especially when you were young, when you were hurt. We get punished. We fail. We are rejected, disappointed. Our hearts are broken. We experience trauma. All of this is part of life. But when we are hurt, we try to protect ourselves. So, we build walls to protect our hearts. We add layers upon layers of protection until we are so separated from our true selves, our pure souls, that we forget. Kundalini yoga helps us to peel back those layers so that we can remember who we are in our very souls. It’s not learning. It’s remembering, which is an entirely different sensation. It feels like coming home to yourself. The practice of Kundalini yoga and meditation has helped me to remember that I am joy.
I wear many hats in this life, and I have many sources of joy. I am a practicing attorney, dog mom, notary, party mom, wedding officiant, home chef, and Kundalini yoga and meditation guide. I love learning, nature, music, reading, dark starry skies, forging deep connections, celebrating holidays, and life. I'm like a crow in that I like to gather the sparkly things that bring me joy and gift them to my special humans. This is how I approach guiding practice. I incorporate inspiring words, beautiful music, joyful movement, mantra, meditation, the occasional costume, a bit of dancing, and a bit of singing into my practices. So, grab your mat, a meditation pillow (a throw pillow or folded towel works too), a bottle of water, and a box of tissues; and let's get lifted! I am so grateful for this incredible gift, and I am grateful and honored to be able to share it with you. Sat Nam!

Heather's Kundalini class is a soulful delight that adds just the right amount of magic to your day. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, her class helps me manage my symptoms and feel lighter on the inside and out. Her classes are filled with intention and authenticity to the Kundalini practice, as well as touches of Heather. Her warmth and enthusiasm for guiding and promoting joy are invigorating, her spirit and energy contagious, and it's impossible not to leave the class feeling a little better. I strongly recommend taking one of her classes and embarking on a journey that will enrich your day and possibly your life!

Practicing breath work with Heather is the best way to start my day!
Her gentle and compassionate guidance helps me align with my highest self. Her intuition as a teacher is spot on, and somehow she always knows exactly what I need in the moment. Whether a beginner or an expert, Heather puts everyone at ease by creating a safe space for connecting to the divine within and without. And if you get to practice with her on a holiday, you're in for a real treat!

From my 1st session of Kundalini Yoga with Heather, I felt a positive shift spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I had been doing yoga weekly for a year. Nothing had ever touched me as deeply like this practice.
I realized after several practices that I was unleashing years of trauma that I had buried. Heather is such a beautiful soul. She allowed me to come to this realization myself.
Kundalini also stimulated my endocrine system, helped organize my nervous system, improve my breathing, boost my immune system, relieve my anxiety and depression and teach me compassion for myself.
This is a magical practice. Heather is an amazing instructor. Combining the two is pure bliss. I am forever grateful.

Heather has taught me a fun and approachable way to kundalini practices and connecting to myself thru mantra, breathwork, & movement. Heather will guide you in releasing some shit and deeply connecting to yourself. In just a 20-minute practice, you will feel so uplifted and alive. Heather is a magical kundalini warrior that has changed my life and guided me in deep connection to myself. Her practices have been a big part of my recovery and releasing old patterns. Now I feel grateful, alive, and high on life force energy 🔥I cannot recommend these practices enough!

My wonderful, enchanting friend, Heather Jo, is an amazing Kundalini Yoga Instructor. Every week we meet at the beautifully restored and historic South Side School. I look forward to Monday evening with other yogi students and Heather Jo because it is a safe, welcoming place. We always feel that is ok to laugh, cry, or show what emotion comes out during our usually over an hour sessions. Heather Jo breaks down every uplifting quote, movement, meditation, chakra balancing, or exercise that we do into digestible bites that are easy for new learners to understand. She takes her time, does not judge us, but guides us into a very beautiful class that always leaves me feeling lighter, happier, and more patient and growing more mindfully. Lastly, Heather Jo sings very lovely, and she spreads her warmth, love, light, and all-around positive vibes to everyone that comes to class.
